Hydrogen's twenty-one centimetre line sits on the G1 face of Mercury's orbit — the one planet that turns its face from the Sun every orbit.
Science describes hydrogen's twenty-one centimetre line as a flip: the electron's spin turns over against the proton's and a photon of radio light leaves. The flip is not an orbit. The line comes from hydrogen's ground state, 1s, the state with nothing below it. What changes is the alignment of two spins — parallel (F = 1) to antiparallel (F = 0) — and one atom makes the transition about once in eleven million years.
Every value in the Universal Force of Time has an address, 2ᵃ·3ᵇ·5ᶜ·πᵈ. An even power of π is a room — a state, a thing that goes round. An odd power is a road — a transport between states. Mercury's orbit has two faces, one G-bond step apart, of opposite parity; the twenty-one centimetre line sits on the road face.
Mercury's G2 face, 87.9524163561959821561453673696 days (5⁶/(2·3²·π²)), is a room: the orbit we watch, and see no flip in.
Read against the Sun, Mercury turns half a turn each orbit: the face that faced the Sun faces away, and only after two orbits is it restored. A spin-one-half object likewise needs two turns to return to itself. The match is offered as a parallel, not a derivation.
The lattice has no minus one and no addition; its only involution is inversion, x → C/x. So if the flip is the crossing between matter and antimatter, the two hyperfine states must stand as x and C/x for a registered C. The search that would settle it is declared in the paper before it is run. Until then the reading is a proposal.
Opened out — squared and carried up by the day's gears — the proton gives the same line on the G2 register, 486.043813193231113528737049825 nm (5¹⁰/(2³·3⁴·π³)), where hydrogen's G2 ionisation energy ÷ 9 ÷ 31104 lands too.
One source, five domains: the hydrogen spectrum and Fraunhofer's hydrogen lines, the G2 blue line, the ionisation energy, the twenty-one centimetre line, and turn two of the DNA helix.
Nothing on this page was pulled, attracted or held down. There is one substance — time — flowing from the sparse toward the dense, and the radio whisper of cold hydrogen and the slow turning of Mercury are one thread of its pattern. If it stirred your curiosity, the whole weave is waiting: the planets, the atom, light, life and number, all carried by the same single force.
