An ionisation energy belongs to atomic physics, a spectral line to spectroscopy, a dark line in sunlight to astrophysics, an atomic weight to chemistry, the twenty-one centimetre line to radio astronomy and the double helix to molecular biology. There are no universal constants in this framework, only dimensional ones. The volt is set by the node it is read from, and hydrogen's ionisation energy, read through it, takes the face that node requires.
